— Announcements this week  —

WE NEED AT LEAST 10 MORE VOLUNTEER SPEAKERS! This year, the PTSA and CPMS are partnering to organize and implement a Career Day event for students on Wednesday, March 7th. We need YOUR help to make Career Day a success!! We’re looking for people who would like come and talk to the students about their career path. It’s our hope that we can have as many careers as possible represented. For more information, check out this flyer. If you would like to participate as a panelist, please visit here to sign up!  If you know of someone that you feel would be an asset to our panels, please feel free to forward this “Community Letter” to them!!

Monday, March 19th, in the Little Theatre, join us for a FREE screening of “Screenagers” followed by a moderated discussion on creating healthy environments for kids using electronics. Your kiddos will watch a student version of this film during the Career Day event. Find out what they learned! More information about the movie can be found at www.screenagersmovie.com.

Here’s your chance to make a difference by getting more involved in the PTSA! Nominations are currently being sought for the positions of CPMS PTSA president, vice-president, secretary and treasurer. No experience is necessary. You just need to be a WA state PTA member and be willing to commit time to supporting students, parents and staff at CPMS. If interested, please contact alisonstobie5@gmail.com.
Thank you!

ThCPMSe Walkabout Program at CPMS is a PTSA sponsored, school supported, parent staffed program that provides a positive adult presence on campus during peak traffic times. The additional adult presence discourages inappropriate behavior allowing students to feel safe. It also gives parents the opportunity to volunteer in an area that directly impacts their child’s safety and gives them an additional connection to a big part of their child’s day. Attend a mandatory training session prior to your first assignment. It will be an hour long and will provide you with key information and an idea of what to expect while you are on campus. Next training dates: Stay tuned!

The Staff Appreciation committee hosts events throughout the year, and we need the help of all the wonderful CPMS parents, like you, to pull them off. We love our staff and want to recognize their hard work and dedication to our students. Visit our page for more information!

Looking for an excuse to get on campus? Curious about what goes on during the day at CPMS? There’s a way to get a glimpse of what happens during a school day AND to help out while you’re at it. The PTSA has many volunteer opportunities during the year – lend a helping hand AND get involved in the school community! It’s a WIN WIN!  Visit our Volunteer Sign-Up page for more information.
